Mission

The Egan 400 Corporation is a small family funded foundation registerd with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that seeks ways for a small group of people to make a large difference in the community. Family funds previously used for Christmas gift giving are donated to one or more charities each year. Charities are chosen by family members and reflect specific community needs that will benefit from a significant donation. Members of the family often volunteer time at the receiving organization to incorporate community service as part of the annual gift.

History

The Egan 400 foundation was formed by the Gerald E Chmielewski Extended Family in 2018.  The Parents, their nine children, spouses, and grandchildren have always given back to their communities.  Over the years, the whole family realized that their holiday gifts would be more meaningful shared with those in need.  Thus the Egan 400 Corporation was born.  The Egan 400 Corporation raises funds primarily within the family.  Family members take turns identifying the annual gift recipient.  Egan 400 Corporation selects different small local programs each year that otherwise may not have access to funding.  Annual gifts typically range from $3000-$8000 per program and the Corporation disperses 100% of the funds collected in any year.
